Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of RobinBit — the app, website, and related services (together, “the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use RobinBit.

1. What RobinBit does

RobinBit provides a Nigerian-naira wallet with which you can: sell supported gift cards for naira at displayed rates, buy digital gift cards, pay bills (airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, exam pins and similar), fund your wallet via a dedicated virtual account or card payment, and withdraw your balance to a Nigerian bank account.

2. Eligibility & your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract.
• Provide accurate information at sign-up and keep it updated.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account — keep your password, PIN, and devices secure. Tell us immediately at info@robinbit.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One account per person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.

3. Identity verification (KYC)

Some features and limits require identity verification through our KYC partners. Providing false or borrowed identity documents is grounds for immediate account closure and may be reported to authorities.

4. Gift-card trades

• The live rate and the naira amount you will receive are shown before you confirm a trade. Once confirmed, a trade is final.
• You may only trade cards you legally own. Stolen, fraudulently obtained, already-redeemed, or misrepresented cards will be rejected, and your account may be suspended or reported.
• We may decline, pause, or reverse a trade where verification fails or fraud is suspected. Legitimate payouts that fail are refunded to your wallet automatically.
• Rates move with the market and may change at any time before you lock a trade.

5. Wallet, funding & withdrawals

• Funds sent to your virtual account number are credited to your RobinBit wallet.
• Withdrawals go only to bank accounts that match your verified identity.
• If a withdrawal or bill payment fails, the amount is returned to your wallet — never silently.
• We may place holds or review transactions for security, compliance, or dispute reasons.

6. Bill payments

Bill payments (airtime, data, electricity tokens, TV, exam pins) are fulfilled through third-party aggregators. Always confirm the meter number, phone number, or smartcard details before paying — payments to correct-but-mistyped details may not be recoverable.

7. Prohibited use

• Fraud, theft, trading cards obtained illegally, or laundering funds.
• Abuse, manipulation, or exploitation of rates, promos, or system errors.
• Using the Service for someone else’s benefit without authorisation.
• Interfering with the Service (probing, scraping, attacks).

Violations can lead to frozen funds pending investigation, account termination, and referral to law enforcement.

8. Availability

We aim for always-on service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability — maintenance, partner outages, or network issues can cause delays. We are not liable for losses caused by third-party downtime (banks, processors, aggregators), though we will always credit or refund what is owed to you once resolved.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, RobinBit is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, missed opportunities). Our total liability for a transaction is limited to the value of that transaction. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Nigerian consumer-protection law.

10. Suspension & termination

You may close your account at any time after withdrawing your balance. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, fail verification, or present fraud/compliance risk — with notice where the law allows.

11. Changes to the Service or terms

We may update the Service and these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. If a change is material, we will flag it in the app.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be handled in Nigerian courts unless both parties agree otherwise.
